Borusan Group joined the UN Global Compact in 2006. The commitments made in this regard are valid for all of our organizations, including Borçelik, Borusan Cat, Borusan Pipe, Borusan Otomotiv Group and Borusan EnBW Energy. Our unity is the foundation on which our vision of the role we play in achieving sustainability and solving the world’s problems is built.
In an effort to ensure that all stages of production are completely waste-free, we keep waste to a minimum and encourage the adoption of recycling processes. We do not stop working in this direction and constantly develop new strategies to improve such processes

*Revision centers are specialized facilities that inspect, repair and refurbish used, worn-out and defective equipment. These centers extend the service life of machines and components by restoring them to optimal working condition. In this way, these centers contribute to the development of a circular economy by reducing the need to produce new equipment and minimizing waste.
We have obtained a zero-waste certification by ensuring that our facilities in Turkey comply with the Zero Waste Regulations*. We sort waste directly at the source and set up temporary storage sites based on the type of waste for further recycling.
We believe that water must be used efficiently and sustainably. We have started rainwater harvesting in our audit centers to achieve our goals of water sustainability and environmental impact. By using rainwater to wash cars, while refusing to use drinking water, we save tons of water. Borusan Cat contributes to a healthy future for our planet by supporting the sustainable use of water resources.
Reducing Plastic WasteIn an effort to reduce plastic consumption, we abandoned plastic bottles and switched to thermoses and water purification systems. We have instructed Borusan Cat employees to prepare their own thermoses and bottles, and we intend to completely eliminate the use of plastic bottles in all our facilities
Solar Power SystemsWe have installed solar power systems to increase the amount of energy we use from clean sources. We use green energy to meet the needs of our facility in Adana and continue to implement this practice in our other facilities. In addition, by including solar energy solutions in our portfolio, we are able to offer such solutions to customers and contribute to sustainability
*The Zero Waste Regulation is a set of guidelines and standards aimed at minimizing waste and ensuring efficient waste disposal by encouraging the use of methods to reduce, reuse and recycle waste. This usually involves sorting waste directly at the source and properly disposing of materials to achieve “zero waste” status, which means that no waste ends up in landfills or incinerators

We use our B’DAHA (AGAIN) business model, thus contributing to the development of a circular economy. We take our customers for failed and end-of-life equipment and give it a new lease of life in our revision centers. We offer remanufactured parts as a more cost-effective alternative with the Borusan Cat warranty. This reduces the consumption of resources for the production of new products, and it also contributes to the implementation of a reuse cycle, since the products are not sent to landfill.
Boom360 / Müneccim / Sound Diagnostics
The reactive business model often used in our industry takes action after a failure occurs, and usually results in waste. In addition, it does not contribute to the sustainable use of resources. Borusan Cat has abandoned this approach and has started to use a proactive model in its production processes. We now predict faults before they occur and we work together with our customers to find solutions.
Our AI-based tool “Müneccim”, which can be accessed via the “Boom360” app, collects data for analysis using sensors installed on the equipment. This allows us to identify potential problems in advance. In addition, our Sound Diagnostic audio diagnostic app allows us to use fewer company cars, thereby reducing carbon emissions.
Our digital solutions help extend the life of machines, prevent components from going to landfill, and reduce our carbon footprint through sustainable use of resources.
